Pat Ferrero is an award winning filmmaker, curator and teacher. Her documentary films have screened nationally on PBS, been invited to screen at film festivals all over the world including Sundance, New York, San Francisco, Hawaii and the London International Film Festivals. Honors have included awards for her films from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and Humanities (NEH) as well as Rockefeller and Guggenheim Fellowships.

She taught film production, screenwriting and other production courses in the Cinema department at San Francisco State University for over thirty years. She co-curated major exhibits on the American quilt tradition for the SF Art Institute and the Oakland Museum and she has been commissioned to make films for exhibits by the Oakland Museum, the Museum of African Art at the Smithsonian, the SF Museum of Modern Art and most recently for the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh.

Currently she is in her fourth year as Program Director of the Mendocino Film Festival and she remains an active member of the independent social issue documentary film distribution collective New Day Films.
